The touchscreen is an important part of any modern device: smartphone, tablet, laptop or ATM. If it does not work correctly, it can cause freezing, ghost touches or no response to touch.
This test draws every registered touch on a full-screen canvas and marks the covered grid cells. Before starting, clean and dry the screen, choose the orientation you normally use, and close controls that could cover its edges.
navigator.maxTouchPoints.Coverage is the percentage of visible grid cells that registered at least one touch. Edges and Corners measure those harder-to-reach areas separately. A 100% value means that every visible cell responded during this run; it does not measure pressure accuracy or calibrate the display.
Repeat the test at least twice. Dry the screen and your hands, disconnect the charger, restart the device, and try another browser. If the problem remains, temporarily remove the case or protector and install available system updates. Persistent failure in the same area, especially after a drop or crack, is a reason to back up your data and contact a repair service.
This browser test cannot identify the exact damaged component. Use the dead-pixel test to separate a visible image defect from a touch-input problem, or the 3D Touch test to check supported pressure input. Touch traces are rendered on the canvas in your current browser; saving creates a local PNG file.
