How to test phone vibration

This test shows whether your browser can start the phone’s vibration motor and how clearly you can feel different pulses.

  1. Open this page on a phone or tablet and start with a 50 or 200 ms pulse.
  2. Run several ready-made patterns to compare short and long pulses separated by pauses.
  3. If needed, enter a custom comma-separated sequence of durations in milliseconds.

Browser and device compatibility

Web vibration support depends on the device model, operating-system version, and browser. Compatible Android browsers commonly expose vibration, but a browser preference or power-saving mode may block it. Support on iPhone and iPad is limited and can vary between iOS versions. If only a limited test is available, this page displays a single “Vibrate” button.

The test is normally unavailable on desktop computers because they do not contain a vibration motor. Use the separate controller test when checking gamepad vibration.

What to do if vibration does not work

  • Check sound, vibration, and haptic settings. Temporarily disable silent mode, Do Not Disturb, and power saving.
  • Allow vibration in the site or browser settings if a corresponding preference is available.
  • Restart the browser and phone, then compare the result with a call, alarm, or on-screen keyboard.
  • If vibration fails both in the browser and system apps, the motor or its connection may require repair.
