Mirror Online

How to Use an Online Mirror

  1. Click the “Start Camera” button. We will request permission to access your media device.
  2. Grant access. Click “Allow” or “Grant permission” in your browser’s pop-up window.
  3. Watch and adjust. You will immediately see yourself in real time. You can often select which camera to use (if you have more than one) and adjust the image quality.

Online Mirror Features and Controls

After starting the camera, you can adapt the image to your situation. If several cameras are available, select the front camera or an external webcam. Automatic quality is usually sufficient; HD, Full HD, and 4K depend on the resolutions supported by your device and browser.

  • Use zoom to bring your face closer without moving the camera.
  • Freeze the image to inspect a detail, then resume the live view.
  • Open fullscreen mode when you need a larger viewing area.
  • Save a frame as a PNG when you want to compare lighting or framing.

Mirrored View or True View?

A mirrored image matches the reflection you see in a regular mirror: when you raise your right hand, it appears on the same side of the screen. This view feels natural when fixing your hair or applying makeup. True view shows the orientation captured by the camera and is better for checking how other people will see you in a call or photo. Text on clothes and objects appears reversed only in mirrored view.

Compatibility and Image Quality

The mirror works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on computers, phones, and tablets. For a clearer image, clean the lens, place a soft light in front of you, and avoid a bright window behind you. If no image appears, close other applications that may be using the webcam.

Frequently asked questions

The mirror is not working. What should I do?

Make sure you have allowed camera access in your browser. Check if another program (Zoom, Skype) is using the camera.

The image is blurry or dark.

This depends on the lighting and the quality of your camera. Add light in front of you and wipe the lens.

How is this different from a regular mirror/my phone’s camera?

It’s more convenient than a mirror if you don’t have one nearby. And unlike the phone’s camera, the image is mirrored (flipped) as you are used to seeing.

Is a microphone needed?

No, the microphone is not used and is not recorded. Only the image.
